Overland Avenue is mislabeled in the community plan as a secondary highway.
After the death of a neighbor, the community joined together to petition City Hall for a stop sign at Tennessee and Overland. They also won City Council support to downgrade “little overland” to a collector street as well as uphold the no widening provision won by members of the community before OAC was formed.
This new status will be added to the updated Westside Community Plan that is due out 2027.
